Privacy

Hexwalls collects nothing about you.

There is no account with us, no server of ours, and no analytics. We do not collect, store or sell any personal information. We do not track you, we do not measure you, and there is nothing here to opt out of.

No metrics, no trackers

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service and no third-party code of any kind. It is built on Apple's own frameworks and talks to Apple and nobody else. Nothing counts your taps, your sessions or your time in the app, and no identifier of yours is handed to anyone.

If you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple may pass us anonymous, aggregated crash and usage reports. That is Apple's mechanism, off unless you chose it, and it never names a person.

Signing in is Game Center

Hexwalls uses Apple's Game Center. There is no Hexwalls password and no sign-up form — you are already signed in through your Apple Account, and we never see any credential of yours.

Game Center gives the app two things, and only when you allow it:

Both stay on your device except as described below. Neither is sent anywhere else, and declining either leaves the rest of the game working.

Storage is iCloud

Your progress is kept on your device, and your history and times live in Apple's iCloud under your own Apple Account. We do not run a server and we hold no copy.

Finishing a puzzle publishes one row to the app's shared iCloud database so the leaderboard for that day can exist. It is deliberately small, it is public to other players, and it is all of it:

That is a leaderboard entry, not a profile. There is no email address, no location, no contacts, no device fingerprint and no advertising identifier in it — the app never asks for any of those.

Buying the archive, or PRO

The app sells two things: the archive, a one-off purchase, and PRO, an annual subscription. Both are handled entirely by Apple. Payment details go to Apple, never to us; we are told only what this Apple Account has bought. There are no adverts.

The website

This site plays today's puzzle in your browser with no sign-in, no cookies for tracking, and no analytics. Your progress on a day is kept in your own browser's storage and never leaves it.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anybody, regardless of age. Game Center accounts for children are managed by Apple under a parent's control.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything held on the device. Your history lives in your own iCloud account and is yours to clear. If you would like the times published under your name removed from the boards, write to us and we will remove them.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. We will not start collecting something quietly.
